The company’s leadership is highly experienced and qualified, with an extensive background stemming from over 40 years of expertise and accomplishment in the plumbing and mechanical contracting industry. Tom Sherman, SMC’s President, started his career in this industry when he completed an apprenticeship program with the Broward County LU-719 in 1986. Tom went on to graduate from the supervisor’s academy at Clemson University and completed Trane’s Engineered Concept Course. in 1995. Tom served as General Superintendent for SKANSKA USA at the Hard Rock Live at Universal, and the U.S. Courthouse located in Jacksonville, FL. After many successful years with SKANSKA USA, Tom joined Lake Mechanical as their President where he piloted many top-level projects to include Orlando VA Medical Center, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel, Disney’s Blizzard Beach, Disney’s All-Star Resort, Universal Studios Island of Adventure, Universal Studios Jimmy Fallon Ride Through New York, Universal Studios Toon Lagoon, and Universal Studios Port Of Entry. During the time Tom was at Lake Mechanical the company provided superior service while maintaining integrity by taking immense pride in treating everyone fairly, stressing safety first, and providing reliable service to clients in the community.
